Harper College will be closed Tuesday, November 5 in observance of Election Day.
Harper College is inviting members of the community to a dialogue session about its community. Strategic Planning Dialogue Session: The Changing Landscape of the Community will take place from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29, at the Wojcik Conference Center, 1200 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine.
This event will explore the transforming demographics, economic trends and social dynamics shaping Harper’s community. As the third installment in a series dedicated to forging Harper’s next Strategic Plan, the session will address critical questions about who will constitute the communities Harper serves during the next decade. Key topics will include identifying necessary programs and services for future students and determining potential organizational partnerships to best support the community.
“This dialogue is essential for understanding the evolving needs of our diverse population,” said Darlene Schlenbecker, vice president of planning, research and institutional effectiveness. “By bringing together Harper students and employes with area employers and community members, we can collaboratively shape a strategic focus that aligns with our mission to serve everyone in our district.”
Recently designated a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) and an Asian American Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution (AANAPISI), Harper has experienced significant changes that reflect the district’s rich diversity. Participation in this session offers an opportunity to contribute to the future of the college and the communities it supports.
RSVP is preferred, but all are welcome to attend the free event. Attendees should park in Lot 14. For more information, contact strategicplanning@harpercollege.edu.
