Harper College will be closed Tuesday, November 5 in observance of Election Day.
Harper College will be celebrating the total solar eclipse with the free Eclipse @ Harper event, 12:30-3:30 p.m. Monday, April 8.
Visitors of all ages are welcome to the Harper Quad to view the eclipse, during which the sun will be covered approximately 94% by the moon. The next total eclipse that is viewable from North America won’t take place until 2044.
The event will include fun activities hosted by Harper employees and students as well as opportunities to learn about the eclipse from Harper faculty and amateur astronomers. Eclipse glasses will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Parking will be in lots 3-6 and the parking garage. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome; coolers, umbrellas and tents are prohibited.
