Meet Student Government Vice President, Lydia Schiller

Lydia standing in front of an American flagBetween volleyball, honors courses in Philosophy, working, snowboarding and chasing her Supreme Court dreams, Harper student Lydia Schiller somehow finds time to be the Student Government Association (SGA) Vice President.

“SGA is a tool to improve the student experience and share resources on campus,” says Lydia. She’s proud of SGA’s work to make Harper more inclusive, including transgender bathroom signage and its current efforts to implement multi-lingual signage on campus.

While Harper wasn’t originally on her radar, Lydia came to realize Harper is a great school, at a great price. She’s been able to debate philosophy, play a collegiate sport (volleyball) and help make a difference on campus through SGA.

“SGA is under recognized, but we’re here to represent students,” says Lydia. You can make your voice heard by attending an SGA meeting, becoming a student senator, or dropping in during SGA office hours with a recommendation or concern. The SGA office is located on the third floor of Building A, in the Center for Student Involvement.
