Harper College offices are currently closed for an all-campus meeting. Offices will reopen shortly after 10 a.m. to serve students.
Inspired by the life and sacrifices of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Harper College invites members of the Harper community to participate in the Shining Light on Hope and Justice campaign. Sponsored by Harper Wellness and the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the campaign will include events that share King’s inspiring messages, honor those making positive change on Harper’s campus and celebrate the American icon’s legacy.
Harper will be closed on Monday, January 20, for the King holiday. Activities, which are free and open to everyone, will begin Tuesday, January 21 on Harper’s campus, 1200 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine:
Infinite Hope Poster Display
Get inspired by posters highlighting quotes from people advocating for positive change. Posters will be on display January 21-31 in Harper’s Building D Rotunda, Avanté Center, Student Center Lounge (Building A) and the Building M lobby.
Hope Stations: Honoring Everyday Courage
Acknowledge someone on campus making a positive impact at the campaign’s Hope Stations, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, in Avanté and noon-2 p.m. Wednesday, January 22, in Building L near the HarperStore.
3rd Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration
Celebrate King’s life through song, dance and a keynote address at noon Wednesday, January 29, in the Wojcik Conference Center (Building W). A soul food lunch will immediately follow the program.
