Harper College will be closed on Wednesday, February 12 in observance of Lincoln's Day.
The Harper College Sonography programs are seeking volunteers to be scanned by students
who are preparing to work in the hospital setting performing critical ultrasounds
that can save lives.
Available ultrasound exams include carotid artery (participants must be 50 or older); veins of the legs (participants must be 18 or older); and liver (this requires a 4-hour food and drink fast; participants must be 18 or older).
Limited appointments will begin in October between 3 and 7 p.m. select weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
The free exams last about an hour and are non-diagnostic. Volunteers will not receive a medical report but may be instructed to follow up with a physician. All exams will be performed by students on state-of-the-art equipment, under the supervision of a registered diagnostic medical sonographer. Harper’s program conforms to all patient safety regulations.
Please call the Harper College Diagnostics Imaging Lab at 847.925.6104 beginning September 18 to make an appointment.
