Harper College will be closed Tuesday, November 5 in observance of Election Day.
Harper College will host its first-ever Alumni and Harper Retiree Reception, offering former students and professors an opportunity to reconnect and reminisce.
The event will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at the Wojcik Conference Center Dining Room.
Shannon Hynes, director of alumni and affinity groups at Harper and one of the event’s organizers, said the reception is the result of the interest sparked by Harper’s 50th Anniversary celebration in 2017-2018.
“Many alumni who were engaging with Harper through the anniversary events or programming were inquiring about their former professors or staff members who they remembered so fondly,” Hynes said. “The interest in connection between these two groups was strong.”
The event will provide opportunities for networking among former classmates, as well as inform alumni about ways to stay engaged and connected to the institution through programs, events and volunteer opportunities with students and campus.
Attendees will also hear from Dr. Avis Proctor, who took over as Harper’s sixth president on July 1.
