Harper College will be closed Tuesday, November 5 in observance of Election Day.
Harper College’s Diagnostic Cardiac and Medical Sonography programs are seeking volunteers interested in receiving free ultrasounds.
Available ultrasound exams include carotid artery (participants must be at least 50 years old) and arteries/veins of the legs (participants must be at least 18 years old).
Appointments will be available on select evenings starting September 11 through November 21.
The free exams, which each last about an hour, are performed by students under the supervision of a registered diagnostic medical sonographer. Harper’s program conforms to all patient safety regulations.
The tests are non-diagnostic. Volunteers will not receive a medical report, but may be instructed to follow up with a physician.
Appointments are required and fill up quickly. Contact Karen in the Harper College Diagnostics Imaging Lab at 847.925.6104.
