Cultural Arts Concert Series performance to feature operatic singers

The next performance in Harper College’s Cultural Arts Concert Series features soprano Susan Lundholm and bass-baritone Timothy Filliman, both members of the Harper music department’s voice faculty.Susan Lundholm and Timothy Filliman

The recital will take place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, at the Performing Arts Center on the College’s main campus, 1200 W. Algonquin Road in Palatine.

Lundholm, an active opera, concert and oratorio singer, has performed major operatic roles with such groups as the Chicago Opera Theater, Fox River Valley Symphony, Maine Opera Association and Florida's Brevard Opera-in-Concert. Her solo/orchestral repertoire includes Handel's Messiah, Mendelssohn's Elijah, Mozart's Requiem, Haydn's The Seasons, Creation, and Lord Nelson Mass, Mahler's Fourth Symphony, and more.

Filliman's career highlights include a solo appearance on WFMT radio and hundreds of performances with the Lyric Opera of Chicago Chorus, including a national appearance on PBS's “Great Performances” series and two Grammy-nominated recordings. His solo engagements include performances with Chamber Opera Chicago, Peoria Civic Opera, Northwest Chicago Symphony, Dallas Public Opera and the Metropolitan Chamber Ensemble of Chicago.
