ABC 7 Chicago recently aired a segment on Harper student athlete Dwayne Esper and his journey to compete at the Summer Deaflympics next month in Samsun, Turkey. Esper, who competes for Harper’s track and field team, was struggling to raise the $5,000 needed to fund his trip. Viewers came through, pushing Esper past his goal less than 24 hours after the “Chicago Proud” segment aired. Read More

More than 100 area golfers gathered earlier this month for some friendly competition – and to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students. In the end, the Harper College Educational Foundation's 29th Annual Golf Open raised more than $115,000 to support scholarships and programming. Read More

Two student veterans recently laced up their boots and strapped on their (rather heavy) backpacks over for the fourth annual Ruck March. Participants, carrying 20-plus pound rucks, marched 20 miles from Veterans’ Memorial Park in Glencoe to the southern end of Lincoln Park in Chicago to support veterans. Read More

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and the Illinois Manufacturers' Association (IMA) awarded a joint $50,000 endowment to fund Harper College scholarships in memory of manufacturing leader Ron Bullock, former CEO of Bison Gear. Harper named its CNC lab the Ron Bullock Memorial CNC Laboratory. Read More
