Scheduled Recreation

What is scheduled recreation?

Scheduled recreation offers days and times to participate in recreational sports such as badminton, basketball, and pickleball. These scheduled times give participants the opportunity to have fun, be active, meet others and build a community. All scheduled recreation activities are drop-in and are held at the Rec Center (Building M) in the four-court fieldhouse.

Who can participate?

Scheduled recreation is open to all members and non-members over the age of 18 with a valid I.D. Scheduled recreation activites are FREE to members of the Rec Center. Non-members are required to purchase a single entry pass.

What to expect

  • Courts are open and shared during scheduled recreation play
  • Casual and inclusive environment
  • All skill levels welcome
  • Court rotation may occur during high participation to allow fair play
  • Participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment

Note: Depending on interest, the scheduled recreation program may evolve to include pre-registration, fee for high usage times and/or member only privileges.

Pickleball is a fun, fast-paced paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. Played on a smaller court, it's easy to learn and suitable for all skill levels, making it perfect for casual players and competitors alike. To ensure a positive experience for all participants, courts are divided into beginner/intermediate and competitive play.

The current registration process will remain the same for the 2026 season! Please continue to sign-in at the welcome desk up to 30-minutes prior to the pickleball session you plan to attend.

  6. When three pickleball nets (1 court) are available, courts will not be allocated by skill level.
  7. Games are up to 11 (win by 2) if less than 9 picklers are waiting on the respective court area.
  8. Games are up to “first to 9 points wins” when 9 or more picklers are waiting on the respective court area.

2026 Pickleball League

Our seasonal pickleball leagues provide structured weekly match play for adult participants. Designed for both casual and competitive players, leagues offer a great opportunity to stay active, improve skills, and connect with others in the pickleball community. Leagues are open to adults ages 18 and older. You do not need to be a Harper College student or employee to join.
