March Madness Events at the Rec Center

Join the March Madness fun with the Intramural Basketball League! IM sport leagues are a fun and social way to stay active, meet others, and build a community in a safe, friendly, and inclusive environment. Participants must be a Harper student or 18 years or older with a valid I.D. Non-members may purchase a single-entry pass on the day of the event. 

General Information

• This four-week basketball league 
• Wednesdays, March 12, 19, April 2, and 9 (off week on March 26 for spring break)
• 12 to 12:45 p.m. in the Rec Center (Building M) fieldhouse Court B and C
• Registration deadline is March 10
• Registration is required

Rules and Regulations

• Teams shall consist of five players (this can flucuate due to number of participants who attend on a particular day).
  • Players can register as part of a team or sign up solo to be placed on a team.
• All registered players are required to attend all four weeks of the league.  If there are any conflicts, please contact Kendall Vagle at (847) 925-6815 or email rk02500@harpercollege.edu.
• Each team will play one game per day of the league.
• Games consist of two teams playing two 20-minute halves with a 5 minute halftime.
• A maximum of four teams can play on each day of the league.
• The tournament will be played round robin style where all teams will play each other once.
• The championship game will be played by the teams with the most wins.
• The overall winning team will be decided by the championship game results.

Prizes & Giveaways:

• All registered participants who attend all three times receive a $5.00 SODEXO gift card.
• The winning team takes home an exclusive Rec Center Intramural Championship T-shirt.

Men's Tournament Bracket Party - Monday, March 17 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Kick off March Madness with a bracket creation party in the Gaming Lounge! Build your perfect bracket, enjoy some snacks, and talk hoops with friends. No registration required. Access to the Gaming Lounge is included in a Health and Recreation Center memberships and or the purchase of single-entry pass.

Prizes and Giveaways:

• All bracket party participates will be entered into a drawing.
• Two drawing winners will either receive a brand-new Wilson (Men's or Women's) basketball or new exercise mat!

Women's Tournament Bracket Party - Tuesday, March 18 from 1 to 3 p.m.

The action doesn’t stop with the men’s tournament—join us for another round of bracket madness focused on the NCAA Women’s Tournament. Build your bracket, discuss potential upsets, and enjoy some game-day snacks. Whether you're rooting for a powerhouse program or looking for a Cinderella story, this is your chance to get involved in the tournament excitement. No registration required. Access to the Gaming Lounge is included in a Health and Recreation Center memberships and or the purchase of single-entry pass. Don’t miss out on the madness!
