Bluebird, Bluebird by Attica Locke
Thursday, June 13, 2024
2-3pm CT
Texas Ranger, Darren Mathews, has more than a mystery on his hands when he finds a Chicago lawyer’s body in the bayou. A few days later, another body turns up. Darren quickly realizes this is more than a typical whodunit. A desolate setting places the spotlight on well-developed characters and a justice-filled plotline, making for a powerful and unforgettable read.
Writer Attica Locke (of TV’s Empire fame) pulls readers in with her descriptive writing and realistic treatment of a sobering subject.

The Life We Bury by Allen Eskens
Thursday, July 11, 2024
2-3pm CT
A school assignment finds college student Joe Talbert interviewing a convicted murderer who is living out his final days in a nursing home. Through his interactions with the Vietnam veteran, Joe senses something amiss and decides to investigate – stumbling upon a thirty-year-old cold case. The action and suspense are balanced by Joe’s personal relationships and his sympathetic nature.
Likeable characters and a compelling plot make for an incredibly good story.
