How to Register

The Preschool follows Harper's academic calendar — so when Harper classes are in session, so is Preschool. Additionally, Preschool is closed for two days during fall semester for Professional Development Days, and two days in spring semester for P/T conferences. 

Choose either two, three or five days a week from 9am-2pm.

Registration for Extended Preschool Children Age 3 to 5

Open enrollment is offered year round for this full-day and half-day care program. This means the day your child turns three, no matter where that date falls within the year, and is fully potty trained, your child can join us.

Unlike Preschool, Extended Preschool is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and closed only on the following holidays: Labor Day, General Election Day, Thanksgiving break (three days), winter break (two weeks), Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday, Lincoln's birthday, Reading Day (Friday before Easter), Professional Development Days (two days fall semester, one day spring semester), P/T Conferences (two days spring semester), Juneteenth National Freedom Day, Independence Day and Summer Break (one week in August). During the Summer Semester Harper College and Early Childhood Lab School is closed on Fridays at noon.

Construction Update

Early Childhood Lab School will be closed in the Summer of 2025 due to construction. 
Beginning Fall 2025 through Summer 2027, construction will take place in front of Building I, resulting in temporary adjustments for our Lab School:
1. Entrance Change: The main entrance to the preschool will be inaccessible. Parents and guardians will need to use an alternative entrance through the parking garage. While this entrance is farther from the preschool, we will provide clear signage to assist you.
2. Alternative Playground: To ensure outdoor playtime remains safe and enjoyable, a temporary playground will be set up near Building I. This space will meet all safety standards and provide an engaging environment for the children.
