Harper announces tuition rate for 2024-25 academic year

The Harper College Board of Trustees in February approved a $3 per credit hour tuition increase to help support the college’s commitment to providing quality, affordable and accessible education.

Effective this fall, in-district tuition for the 2024-25 academic year will increase 1.9% to $138.50 per credit hour. This will cost an additional $45 per semester for a full-time student taking 15 credit hours. Out-of-district, out-of-state and international student tuition rates also will increase by $3 a credit hour.

The proposal was supported by the college’s Student Government Association, whose members told administrators they recognized Harper’s increase is moderate compared to those at many peer institutions and decreases the likelihood of a larger increase in the future.

The board also voted to continue the in-district rate regardless of residency for online Health Information Technology classes. Harper launched the online Health Information Technology program in fall 2021. The college is helping to ensure this program remains affordable and accessible to all, as an all-online version of this program is not available in many Illinois community college districts.
