Hello! When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me spending time with my family including two fur babies, exploring nature, reading a good book (ACOTAR anyone?!), or trying out new recipes in the kitchen. Looking forward to connecting with you!

I am a passionate clinical mental health therapist with nearly 12 years of experience across all levels of care, from outpatient therapy to inpatient detox treatment. I specialize in working with individuals facing complex co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges, utilizing CBT, ACT, and DBT through a trauma-informed approach. As a certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) practitioner, I am also a trained facilitator for Seeking Safety, a program addressing trauma and substance use, and SMART Recovery, which supports individuals on their recovery journey.

I have a deep commitment to fostering mental health & well-being and to helping students thrive both personally and academically. I am honored to serve Harper’s campus community as the Counseling Services Manager. I collaborate with campus and community partners to enact mental health initiatives, provide student support, and lead a highly skilled team of clinically licensed professionals. I love creating a welcoming space where all students feel heard, valued, and empowered to succeed.

Hello Hawks fam!

Outside of Harper College, you can find me climbing rocks (real and plastic), camping, traveling to our beautiful national parks and preserves, walking and biking Chicago’s summer lakefront, checking out the newest coffee shop in the city, and spoiling my senior dog Rita.

I encourage students to embrace their authentic selves fully and unapologetically. Through my collaborative, down-to-earth approach to clinical mental health therapy, I enjoy helping Harper students of all identities and backgrounds with gaining the skills, strength (both physical and mental) and confidence to reach their personal goals. Counseling sessions with me will feel productive, cohesive, and candid.

I am no stranger to the school environment, having worked previously as a school counselor in District 214, as well as an Academic Advisor and Counselor with the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of California, Irvine. I love to work with people in all stages of transition, so whether it’s figuring out the next step in your academic career, or how to improve upon your least favorite habit, we will find a solution – together.

I am excited to begin work at Harper College, and am excited to have an opportunity to meet you all. As a short intro to who I am, I would begin by saying that I am comfortable in both extraverted and introverted settings. I am completely comfortable in a crowd of new people, but at the same time often enjoy curling up in a comfy chair by the window reading a new fantasy or sci-fi novel. Most weekends, you can find me on hikes or bike rides with my family enjoying nature in all the forest preserve options in the northern and western suburbs. I am interested in all things nerd and would prefer to spend most days playing Dungeons and Dragons with my college friends (even though they are unfortunately not free to do so more than 1-2 times per month).

From a clinical standpoint, I have been working in the mental health field since 2012 in a number of different settings (residential, non-profit, high school counseling, supporting unhoused young adults, private practice, and PHP/IOP). I graduated in 2016 from Loyola University Chicago with a Master of Social Work and obtained my clinical licensure in 2018. I have advanced training in CBT, DBT, ACT, and 5 different trauma informed treatment modalities (TF-CBT, DDP, NMT, ARC, and Brainspotting). I have had the privilege of working with a diverse population of youth and adults providing individual, group, and family therapy, and I am interested in bringing this experience to my work with Harper students. I strongly believe that all people have the capacity to utilize their strengths to overcome their obstacles and am interested in walking with you through your mental health journey.
