Serving the northwest suburbs since 1967, Harper College is one of the nation’s premier
community colleges and among the largest with an annual enrollment of 22,623.
Located in building F at the center of campus, the David K. Hill Family Library boasts
15 study rooms, a makerspace, computers and extensive instructional and programming
space. It houses some 120,000 print books, 20,000 physical audiovisual titles, and
nearly 800,000 electronic titles.
Harper wants you to succeed in your college experience. From approachable faculty
members to a full range of support services, Harper is prepared to meet the diverse
needs of students with critical resources including advising and counseling, access
and disability services, tutoring programs, food and other assistance.
One Stop offers an all-in-one service for all your questions related to student finances
and registration. Help is available in person (Building A), by phone or through virtual
appointments.
The Cultural Center at Harper College is a culturally-affirming, educational lounge,
and event space. Serving as an academic and social counterspace, the Cultural Center
offers a space where employees and students are encouraged to build connections, express
their identities and values, and enjoy a place where they can have a sense of belonging
on campus.
Student-driven radio station WCHM allows students to build their own shows from the
ground up. While learning the details of radio production and show promotion, students
gain hands-on experience, while having an outlet for creative expression. Tune in
to Hawk Radio at 88.3 FM.
The Harper College Bookstore is your home for spirit wear, gifts, technology, course
supplies, textbooks and more. Visit the store in Building L.
The Makerspace and Entrepreneur Center, located in Building H, is a bright, friendly
and collaborative innovation hub created to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs,
inventors, artists and engineers.
The Harper College library has Chromebooks, wi-fi hotspots and graphing calculators
available for free semester-long use. Harper College also has three large computer
labs open to all currently enrolled Harper students.
The Foglia Foundation Health and Recreation Center (Building M) is the hub for campus
recreation, fitness and wellness. Key features include a 10,000 square foot fitness
center, a six-lane pool, numerous fitness programs, campus recreation, Northwest Community
Healthcare (NCH) outpatient care center, and Palatine Park District programming.
The Center for Student Veterans and Military-Connected Students, located in Building
A, serves as a central resource hub for all military veterans, active-duty personnel
and their eligible spouses or dependents who are students at Harper.
Grab your favorite coffee drink, review your notes before class or get together with
classmates at Harper’s Starbucks café, located in Building D.
Located in the sunny and bustling Avante corridor, Harper’s Subway shop makes it easy
for you to grab a tasty, affordable lunch with friends.
Whether you want to perform, perfect your art or earn a degree, you’ll find boundless
opportunities to explore the arts at Harper. Each year, Harper presents an array of
arts events featuring visiting artists and renowned performers, including talented
students.
Studio V, located in building J, is a vibrant hub for artists and those who appreciate
fine craftsmanship. This professional, student-run boutique offers student-designed
work including jewelry, fashion items, accessories, sculpture, art and original pieces.
GO HAWKS! The Harper Hawks have won 28 national, intercollegiate championships. Because
of our teams' accomplishments on and off the field, colleges and universities seek
and recruit Harper athletes. Students can also participate in intramural activities
individually or join an intramural team to have fun and meet new people.
A high point of the academic year, Harper’s graduation ceremony celebrates each student’s
journey to achieve their goals and go forward into the next chapter of their lives.
Commencement exercises are held annually in May at the outdoor pavilion behind building
D.
