Variable Speed Tape Recorders
These recorders are extremely useful for listening to books on tape. Students who are blind or who have low vision often use this equipment. Students with learning disabilities may also find them useful.

Raised Lined Thermal Imaging Printer
The raised lined thermal imaging printer takes the toner from a laser printer image and converts its to a raised-lined image with the help of special paper. This is useful for visually impaired users, who then can trace the outline of the image with their fingers. This technique is usually used for graphs, maps and similar quantitative information.

Alva Refreshable Braille Display
This device is used in conjunction with a keyboard. The Alva refreshable Braille display takes the place of a monitor. Visually impaired users can read the line of Braille on the bottom of the Alva to determine what text information is displayed on the monitor. Using this information, they can operate a computer with great efficiency to gain instant feedback about what has been typed/displayed.

Alpha smart
The alpha smart is a portable keyboard, ideal for those who can type and have difficulty writing by hand. With one of these portable keyboards, a student can type his/her lecture notes, then import them into any word processing program. It requires a simple connection with a USB cable.

Braille Embosser Juliet Pro 60
This printer will produce double-sided Braille documents, which can be sent to the printer using a Braille translation software application. Documents in a word processing application can be converted to Braille for printing.

Keyboard Mask
A keyboard mask is a special device that is placed over standard size keyboard. With this device in place, it is harder to accidentally strike two or more keys at the same time.

Portable E-book Reader
This device is a portable CD player that will work with any daisy formatted e-book.

One-handed Keyboard
Because of the special layout of its keys, this keyboard can be operated one-handed.

Trackball
The trackball is an excellent alternative for individuals who have trouble using a standard mouse.

Closed-circuit TV device
This device for low vision users has a camera mounted on the base of the stand. Documents such as handouts, notes and other printed material can be placed on a movable (X - Y axis) tray, allowing the user to view the magnified material on the monitor. The focus of the camera can be adjusted to enlarge the image or make it smaller. The image can be changed from color to black and white for users who prefer higher contrast.

Accessible Graphing Calculator (Blind / Low Vision)
The Accessible Graphing Calculator is a scientific graphing calculator. It provides standard functions for computation and two dimensional graphing of mathematical expressions. The Program is entirely self-voicing and provides auditory response for program navigation.
