Harper's Geography Dept.

In this course (GEG 101 - World Regional Geography) we will travel the world through readings, videos, and writing. It is often said that the world is getting smaller, but you will soon discover that the world is far too large to study in an 16 week semester. Therefore, students need to depend on the textbook, this Syllabus and Telecourse Study Guide, and the videos, to bring the world down to size. Still, there is much to learn, but it should be a lot of fun.

There are two sections of this telecourse. Most students have enrolled in GEG 101-050 which is conducted as a traditional telecourse where the students study the textbook and videos, do the writing assignment, and take the tests. GEG 101-059 is a section in which we will utilize the internet so that we can have class discussions and visit various internet sites in addition to studying the textbook and videos. Students in section 059 must provide their own internet access and e-mail.
