The spring 2024 Academic Honors Convocation is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7, 2024 in the Performing Arts Center.
Honors Convocation is a traditional celebration of the academic excellence exhibited by the faculty and students of a college.
Individual students will be mailed a formal invitation and are honored for their overall academic achievement, and their outstanding performance. Above all, Honors Convocation recognizes the students’ commitment to setting and attaining high educational goals.
Who is Recognized at Honors Convocation?
Eligibility to participate is determined by academic achievement and outstanding performance. During the Honors Convocation, students are recognized in the following areas for high achievement: James Brown Memorial Honors Scholar Award, David K. Hill Memorial Award, Professor Powell and Larry Moats Extra Five Minute Faculty Award, Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member Award, James J. McGrath Award, Motorola Solutions Foundation Awards for Excellence, Motorola Solutions Award Foundation Award for Teaching Excellence, All Phi Phi and All Illinois Academic Team, Honors Program Graduates, Engineering Pathways, Alpha Delta Nu, Social Justice Studies Graduation Distinction, Global Scholar Graduation Distinction, Excellence in the Discipline, and 4.0 Grade Point Average Graduates. 2024 Convocation award criteria.
Students must have applied to graduate by the deadline and have been verified to graduate with an Associate Degree from Harper College. Only then, will these students be invited to attend the Convocation ceremony. Honors Convocation is different from Graduation.
