Refund Policy for Financial
Aid Recipients
Harper students who
are financial aid recipients must be aware of all refund policies including
the federal Return of Title IV Funds policy. Eligible students who officially
withdraw from all classes on or before 60 percent of the term has elapsed
will receive a proportional refund based upon the official date of withdrawal.
The official date of withdrawal is the withdrawal date as recorded by
the Office of the Registrar and is based on the date that appears on the
Student Add/Drop form as filed with that office.
Harper calculates refunds proportionally and must determine the unearned
amount of Title IV Funds that must be returned to the Student Financial
Aid (SFA) programs. The school bases the amount of unearned assistance
that must be refunded on the applicable federal calculations.
Before any refund is made to the student the Office of Student Financial
Assistance must return funds to the appropriate financial aid program(s).
If the student is indebted to the College the amount of this debt will
be subtracted from any refund due the student. Students may contact the
Office of Student Financial Assistance for further details.
