Network administrators make sure that computer
networks function well at all times. The network administrator
install and customize network software so that the network meets
the specific needs of the company. Network administrators are
responsible for maintaining the network on a day to day basis.
Some of the software that a network administrator maintains is
database, electronic mail and word processing. The network administrator
is also responsible for making sure that the printing jobs run

Network administrators generally need to
pursue college level training in network administration or network
engineering. There is also certification for network administrators
that is often needed for employment with certain companies. This
certification generally falls into two types: Certified Netware
Administrators (CNA) who are trained to handle daily network operations
and Certified Netware Engineers (CNE) who are trained in broader
issues such as system installation configuration and maintenance.
