Graphic Designer

Job Description:
Graphic designers portray ideas through their artwork to call attention to products, services or opinions. Graphic designer’s duties range from mechanical work, such as paste-up and marking the instructions to the printer, to more advanced work creating original designs and layouts. Some graphic designers use a computer exclusively while others use both the computer and traditional hand drawings or paintings, depending on the project’s needs and requirements. Job Requirement:
Graphic designers need a degree of artistic talent, creativity and imagination. Graphic designers also need solid computer skills and working knowledge of several of the common drawing, image editing, and page layout programs. Many graphic designers study at the college level, there are two and four year programs in Illinois to choose from. A good portfolio is also considered necessary for employment as a graphic designer.
